The Konspicuous Foundation was founded to empower individuals, families and businesses through education and access to resources. The organization is dedicated to promoting financial literacy, supporting entrepreneurship, and advancing social justice to create a more equitable world.

“Being Konspicuous” and the Konspicuous concept started on November 22nd, 1986 on the campus Tennessee State University, TSU, in Nashville, TN. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Theta Chapter introduced its newest and long-awaited inductees, 29 young men to the TSU campus during a football game vs. Alabama A&M University. The magnitude of the celebration following the induction carried over to the football game taking place. The distinctive crimson sport coats they wore along with the commotion from the celebration caught everyone’s attention and the entire stadium was focusing on this moment.
This event inspired the name Konspicuous 29 ®. Spelled with a K as a standout from the C spelling, the word Konspicuous means “attracting notice or attention or boldly standing out”. Since that time, Konspicuous 29 committed to live up to its name and constantly challenge the notions of indistinct, ordinary, or subtle. In all endeavors we ALWAYS ask the question “Was it Konspicuous?”
The Konspicuous Foundation was founded to help apply its meaning to individuals, families, and business. We want to actively engage each of these areas and help them to Be Konspicuous in support of the of Konspicuous Foundation mission, goals, and objectives.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.
As our mission is to provide support to students, their best interests and benefit and ensuring their long-term success will always be the driving factor in the way we operate.
The success of Konspicuous Foundation will be driven by the coordinated efforts and interdependency of HBCU Students, Alumni, HBCUs, Contributors, and the Foundation itself. We are ALL one collective. We will actively connect with and help foster the relationships between them to provide visible, noteworthy, and distinct service for students.
Always strive to do the right thing and providing complete visibility into the successes as well as the failures of our foundation as we grow, share and set expectations.
We will consider all backgrounds, perspectives, and points of view creating a culture where everyone can be themselves.
Through all challenges, we will maintain our level of quality and execute on the details. We will remain committed to our core mission in the face of adversity and changing circumstances.
