Founded with a vision to build a more equitable financial future, Konspicuous Foundation creates pathways to long-term wealth and economic power in historically excluded communities.
Our work is rooted in the belief that financial knowledge is not just a skill—it’s a tool for liberation. We provide programs and resources that meet people where they are, while helping them envision and achieve multigenerational success. Through our focus on family wealth, entrepreneurship, and professional growth, we’re creating a community where financial security is no longer the exception—but the expectation.
The Konspicuous concept began on November 22, 1986, at Tennessee State University, when 29 distinguished members of the Alpha Theta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. made a bold entrance wearing crimson sport coats—commanding attention across the stadium. That moment gave birth to the name Konspicuous 29: a word that means to boldly stand out and make an impact, with a “K” symbolizing uniqueness and strength.
Over the years, Konspicuous became more than a name—it became a mindset.
Konspicuous Foundation was born from that legacy, expanding the mission to empower individuals, families, and businesses to stand out financially—with knowledge, confidence, and generational purpose.
Through financial education, entrepreneurship support, and wealth-building programs, we help communities boldly pursue financial freedom and ask themselves in every endeavor: “Was it Konspicuous?”
Konspicuous (Kuhn-spik-yoo-uhs) means:
“Attracting notice or attention; boldly standing out.”
Spelled with a K, it symbolizes power, visibility, and the courage to challenge norms—just like the communities we serve.
Below are the new 5 Core Values represented by the Star of the Konspicuous Foundation logo.

We believe in financial literacy with purpose and responsibility.
Why It Matters: Financial decisions impact not just individuals, but entire families and communities. Integrity ensures long-term stability.
At Konspicuous Foundation, our work is rooted in equity, empowerment, and access. Our five core goals guide every program we deliver:
We help families build, preserve, and transfer wealth through financial education, homeownership support, real estate investing, and estate planning. Parents are also equipped to teach financial literacy to the next generation—ensuring a lasting legacy.
We support freelancers, creatives, and small business owners with the financial and business knowledge needed to grow and thrive. Through mentorship, training, and the Next Gen Entrepreneur Grant, we help turn bold ideas into thriving ventures.
We guide young professionals—particularly those who are first in their families to navigate wealth-building—through saving, investing, homebuying, and business ownership. Our scholarship opportunities help remove barriers to professional and financial advancement.
We connect historically excluded communities to essential financial tools—from banking and business credit to investment strategies and responsible lending. Our work addresses systemic barriers with practical, community-rooted solutions.
We bring financial literacy to life through events, partnerships, and digital content. From resource fairs to webinars and mentorship circles, we meet people where they are—both in person and online—to spark long-term financial growth.
These goals are grounded in the Konspicuous Ownership Mind REset, reminding us that financial change begins with a mental shift toward ownership, abundance, and legacy.
